The bite continues!

Greetings from Key Largo! Man have we been busy. I apologize for not posting anything lately, we’ve just been swamped. Thanks to all the folks who have fished with us recently. I hope you enjoyed your trips. Well offshore fishing has continued to be pretty good. We are still finding our share of sail fish out on the edge. Conch reef has slowed a little in the way of sails. Don’t get me wrong we are still managing plenty of bites on bill fish. The king fish are here better now though. We are finding some nice size kings between 120 to 200 feet. If you fish the wire rigs you will have no problem nailing some good ones. Mixed into the madness Wahoo are making a showing also. We are gearing up for a solid bite of Hoo’s from now on out. These speed demons are great on light tackle either high speed trolling or fishing live baits. The Wahoo migration really revolves around the influx of migratory Tuna. Find these schools of Black fin and Bonita and the Predators will be close at hand. Mahi or Dolphin which ever you prefer are showing up too. Normally our summer time targets< Dolphin have been steady here lately. Most Mahi have been weighing in at 6 to 20 pounds. It sure is a nice bonus when you find them. Bottom fishing has been decent. Black and red grouper have cooperated while the mutton snapper are day to day. Yellow tail snapper are biting ok too. Cero mackerel are busy in 40 to 60 feet where the bally hoo schools are most concentrated. Live Hoo’s rigged on wire have been working fine although light rigs with small silver spoons get the job done and seem to be more fun rather than heavier gear.
Outback Snook and drum are chewing ok. Sea trout are your best bet. Not much on the Tarpon yet. Bone fish are moving around on the ocean side flats. When the wind stays down we can find the bones better and they are biting. Well gotta go for now. If you want to go have some fun and catch some fish give us a call at 305-522-2638 or 305 522-5530. If you are in the keys make sure you tune in to "Off the Hook" radio every wed. at 6pm to 8pm on 1300am wffg. We will give you a run down on whats biting and where. See you at the Miami boat show.
Thanks,
Capt. George Clark Jr.
