Every year the Miami boat show rolls around and starts during the week of valentines day. This is generally when our charter season really kicks off and all the charter boats here in the keys get out frequently. Lately fishing has been pretty good offshore. We are seeing better numbers of sail fish lately and mixed in our some very nice Dolphin(Mahi). We have seen fish over the 40 pound mark this winter and there is nothing wrong with that. We are also starting to see better numbers of black fin tuna migrating thru and even some good Wahoo when we target them. King fishing has been very steady too. When we live bait fish we put ourselves in a good situation, opening the door to numerous species. Shark fishing has been very good of late and we are seeing plenty of reef sharks. We are also seeing some nice bulls and a few hammer heads on the move. Reef and wreck fishing continues to build momentum. The bottom bite is typically good this time of year any how. Snapper and grouper fishing will peak out in March and April for sure. Inshore fishing is good but not great. Snook, red fish and sea trout are our main targets. Tarpon will make a showing in April and will be rolling good during May. Make sure you check out our new photos on the picture page at www.rodeocharters.com. Hope to fish with you soon and tight lines.
Thanks,
Capt. George Clark Jr.
