Well we just had some great weather pass through the Florida keys and although Key West felt most of the strong winds and heavy rain, the upper Keys did just fine. Key Largo and Islamorada saw gusts of wind up to 60 miles an hour and squalls filled with rain but it wasnt anything we arent use to. On the fishing side of things we had a great run of Dolphin right before the weather turned. Big Mahi were coming through and large schools of good gaffer size fish from 10 to 20 pounds. We were also seeing plenty of tuna action too and the Wahoo bite has been pretty good off of Key Largo. This crazy turbulent weather has shaken up the reef and we hope to see some grouper and snapper really starting to chew now that the winds and seas have subsided. Normally reef fishing gets going after a good blow.
Back country fishing in the Everglades is in full swing too right now. Snook lead the way, but we are catching all sorts of things out back. The creeks and channels are full of life and anglers can bend the rods on Snook, trout, tarpon, sharks, jacks and even some healthy blue fish and reds. We think that the weather has contributed to us seeing fish in all of these areas. Fishing is just really good right now and the conditions are great this time of year. So we will pray for things to stay this way and look forward to some awesome fishing to come. Give us a call if you are ready to go get em.
